Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Raham to both take two wickets or more at 3.24 with 22Bet

A century to be scored at 9.00 with LeoVegas

Barbados Tridents v Jamaica Tallawahs – Match Preview

Both the Tridents and Tallawahs are trying to edge their way into the top half of the CPL 2020 table. A win here will certainly help that.

Barbados and Jamaica have met nine times since the 2015 CPL. Jamaica have won five and Barbados four. Will the Tallawahs make it six or can Barbados even the scoreline?

Where: Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad

When: Wednesday, 26 August 2020

Start Time: 21:30 GMT (03:00 IST, next day)

Pitch conditions: The team who batted second have won all the CPL 2020 matches at this stadium so far. Bowling first here seems to be the right decision. Two specialist spinners in the XI is also proving the norm. This will be the second match of the day, so the track might be a bit slower.

Weather conditions: Wednesday shouldn’t bring anything out of the ordinary weather-wise. Some rain is predicted, while temperatures will be in the mid-20 degrees celsius and humidity levels will be characteristically high of the Caribbean. We should get a full fixture in.

Barbados Tridents v Jamaica Tallawahs – Latest Odds

Betway have the Tridents priced at 3.60 to win the toss and the match. The Tallawahs are priced at 3.50 in the same market. We’re big fans of this combination bet.

Alternatively, bet on the Tridents to win just the match at 1.90 – or the Tallawahs at 1.83.

Barbados Tridents v Jamaica Tallawahs – Team News

The Tridents need to bounce back from defeat at the hands of the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots earlier this week. The decision to push Corey Anderson down the order could help.

They bat deep, with all-rounder Mitchell Santner arriving at the crease as low as nine in the order. The Tridents’ bowling also has good depth. They used as many as seven bowlers against the Patriots.

Again, the bowling will likely centre around the exploits of spinners Santer and Rashid Khan. Captain Jason Holder should be key with the new ball.

Jermaine Blackwood’s addition to the Jamaica batting order has provided a timely boost. Lower down the order, Andre Russell now has a capable partner in Nkruma Bonner.

Collectively, spinners Sandeep Lamichhane and Mujeeb Ur Rahman conceded just 23 runs in eight overs – and took four wickets – against the Guyana Amazon Warriors this week.

It’s highly likely Rahman will share the new ball with Fidel Edwards again, while Lamichhane will enter the bowling attack late, well after the opening powerplay.

Barbados Tridents v Jamaica Tallawahs – Betting Tips and Prediction

Here are three top CPL betting tips, as the Tridents and Tallawahs size each other up ahead of an intriguing clash at the Queen’s Park Oval.

Bet on Rashid Khan and Mujeeb to Take at Least Two Wickets Each

Our form with accumulator outcomes has been decent lately. Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman are priced at 3.24 with 22Bet to take at least two wickets each.

Both will likely bowl an over or two with the new ball – and could strike early. A return to the attack later, after the field is put back outside of the powerplay should provide more opportunities for wickets.

Back Anderson to Go Big

Corey Anderson was probably on the brink of being dropped by the Tridents after three failures toward the top of the order. They’ve pushed him into the middle-order instead.

He looked rather comfortable at position five against Patriots. Unibet have Anderson priced at 5.50 to be the top run-scorer for the Tridents here. His newfound position could play well to this.

Pick a Century to Be Scored

The CPL 2020 is still waiting for its first century. Batsmen are creeping closer to striking three figures. Evin Lewis went as high as 89 recently.

A century to be scored at some stage seems an inevitability more than a probability. With so many solid batsmen on show, on a good deck, it could happen in this match at 9.00 with LeoVegas.
