With the next edition of the Indian Premier League fast approaching, it won’t be long before we get to see more batting brilliance.
This year’s race for the Orange Cap looks as competitive as ever.
We have assessed all the options to bring you our best IPL betting tips in the top run-scorer market.
Delhi’s Dhawan to Win Orange Cap
As ever, RCB and India skipper Virat Kohli is near the top of the betting. He is joined by last year’s winner and our successful pre-tournament tip KL Rahul.
However, it could be worth taking them both on this time around with a bigger-priced selection in the form of Shikhar Dhawan.
The Delhi Capitals opener nearly scooped the award in 2020 when finishing in second place on 618 runs.
He missed out by just 52 runs after helping DC to the final. Dhawan also came fourth back in 2019.
The Capitals look a strong outfit once again and their ability to go far in the competition should hand Dhawan even more run-scoring opportunities.
It was Dhawan’s positive approach, especially during the powerplay, that set him apart last season and his strike-rate of 144.73 and average of 44.14 from 17 matches indicates the role he played.
Meanwhile, his sublime 98 in the first ODI against England shows he is also in good form in the build-up to IPL 2021.
Dhawan can be backed at 13.0 with Mr Play to land his first IPL Orange Cap.

Suryakumar Is Appealing Longshot
It would be no surprise to see five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians make another bold bid for glory.
In which case, they are sure to have a batsman near the top of the standings.
Reliable skipper Rohit Sharma, dynamic youngster Ishan Kishan and South African star Quinton de Kock are all capable.
However, there is plenty of value to be had in the form of Suryakumar Yadav.
The 30-year-old smashed 480 runs in 2020 and will be buoyed by his recent opportunity at international level for India.
He has really started to realise his potential, understands his game better than ever before, and is perfectly placed at number three to score big.
Betway make him a 26.0 chance to land the top run-scorer prize in 2021. His bigger price means he can be backed each-way at a 1/4 of the odds for a top-four finish.
Padikkal Offers Good Value
IPL 2020 was a breakthrough year for Devdutt Padikkal.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore opener hit 473 runs in just 15 games to bag an eighth-place finish in the top batsman charts.
He played a host of well-measured innings at the top of the order and has plenty of shots in his armoury to score runs all around the ground.
Padikkal is still only 20 and has plenty more progress to come. It’s fair to expect last year’s experience will have taught him plenty ahead of the coming installment.
His price of 21.0 with Betway also looks worth an each-way interest when you also consider his recent Vijay Hazare Trophy form.
The left-hander hit scores of 97, 152, 126*, 145*, 101 and 64 in his last six showings for Karnataka.
