Mumbai Indians Players for 2020
Mumbai have recruited some major players before the start of the 2020 IPL, ensuring the gaps they had during IPL 2019 have been shored up.
New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult and West Indian batsman Sherfane Rutherford have both joined from the Delhi Capitals.
Boult’s arrival will really boost the bowling ranks – and the prospect of watching him open the attack with Jasprit Bumrah is really exciting.
Dhawal Kulkarni, meanwhile, has left the Rajasthan Royals for Mumbai. He could be key when it comes to the need for tight overs and important wickets. He should get more game time in the absence of Lasith Malinga, too.
Mayank Markande and Siddhesh Lad have departed to the Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders, respectively.
They also have players who will go into the IPL on the back of the CPL, so won’t be rusty. These include Sherfane Rutherford and Kieron Pollard.
The Mumbai Indians won’t want any passengers in their squad and this will show at the auction. Everyone must contribute. This sort of approach and expectation has served them well in the past and can continue to do so into the future.
