Multan Sultans v Lahore Qalandars – Match Preview

These teams can’t be split when it comes to the recent head-to-head record. Both have won three of the last six meetings.

They even won one fixture each in the two already played at this year’s tournament. The last meeting did go the way of Lahore, however, as they secured a comprehensive nine-wicket win back in March.

Where: National Stadium, Karachi

When: Sunday, 15 November 2020

Start time: 20:30 IST (15:00 GMT)

Pitch conditions: The National Stadium has hosted the previous two PSL playoff games. On both occasions, the team chasing has come out on top, even if it did take a super over for Karachi. There is plenty in the track for both bat and ball and anything above 170 looks competitive.

Weather conditions: There is no chance of rain in Karachi and clear skies are expected. The temperature will stay around 25 degrees for this fixture.

Multan Sultans v Lahore Qalandars – Team News

The Multan Sultans have replaced Bangladesh all-rounder Mohammad Mahmudullah with England batsman Joe Denly. He didn’t feature in the first playoff game but should come in now.

A second change for the playoffs sees Adam Lyth come in for Fabian Allen

Khushdil Shah also didn’t feature in Qualifier 1 but could return for this. Shan Masood will be hoping for a better display with the bat, while Ravi Bopara will be keen to build on his 40.

Sohail Tanvir is vital for Multan in the bowling department and he continued his previous tournament form with three wickets in Qualifier 1.

The Qalandars have brought in Tamim Iqbal for Chris Lynn, Abid Ali for Salman Butt and Agha Salman for Seekkuge Prasanna.

Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf will be key for Lahore in this one. Dilbar Hussain will have been buoyed by his three-wicket haul in the Eliminator win over Peshawar Zalmi.

Multan Sultans v Lahore Qalandars – Betting Tips and Prediction

Multan have perhaps been hit the hardest by player unavailability ahead of the PSL restart. They battled well to claw their way back into the game against Karachi but ultimately fell short.

Given Lahore come into this one on the back of a victory, as well as winning the previous meeting between the two sides, preference would be for them to take the win here.

Like always, there are 100+ other markets to look at for this fixture.

Back Tamim to Outscore Fakhar

Fakhar Zaman struggled to find any sort of rhythm for Pakistan in the recent T20I clashes with Zimbabwe. That continued in his last match against Peshawar as he made a six-ball seven before being sent packing by Saqib Mahmood.

The experienced Tamim Iqbal only did marginally better but it was his first top clash action for a while. Before that he’d bagged a half-century in a President’s Cup clash in Dhaka.

Backing him to outscore Fakhar once again looks a good bet at 2.0 with bet365.

Mohammad Hafeez to Continue Impressive Form

Mohammad Hafeez has been in good form throughout 2020 and continued to show his skills with an unbeaten 74 in the Eliminator win over Peshawar Zalmi.

His price of 3.75 with 1xBet to be Lahore’s top run-scorer here looks a really tempting price, especially with those above him in the order looking a little short of form.

Sohail the Value Play in Top Bowler Market

Sohail Tanvir has been a real threat throughout PSL 2020 and can again be Multan’s leading wicket-taker in this clash.

He took 3-25 despite defeat in the Qualifier 1 clash against Karachi and can certainly build on that at the same venue.

His price is way too big at 4.5 with bet365 and he offers value in the race to be his team’s best bowler.
