Hobart Hurricanes v Sydney Sixers – Betting Tips and Prediction
This is a really interesting tussle to kick-start BBL 2020-21.
This could be the time to take on last year’s champions. They are away from home and the loss of Tom Curran certainly leaves them a little light in the bowling department.
Extra responsibility will now fall on Ben Dwarshuis and Hobart will be buoyed by their decent head-to-head record against the Sixers.
Sydney batsman Josh Philippe could be set for another fine tournament but the Hurricanes have plenty firepower of their own in D’Arcy Short, Peter Handscomb and Colin Ingram in particular.
Hobart won this fixture last season and their price looks appealing at 2.1 with LeoVegas.
Philippe to Build on Last Season
Batting prospect Josh Philippe enjoyed a brilliant Big Bash campaign last year.
He smashed 487 runs in 16 matches to help the Sixers to the title. He then followed that up with some positive showings as opener for RCB in the Indian Premier League.
The 23-year-old will only have learned from those experiences and surely has plenty more to come this time around.
It would be no surprise to see him get off to a good start and his price of 4.33 with bet365 to be Sydney’s top batsman looks to be value.
Back Boland with the Ball
Scott Boland was Hobart’s top bowler in BBL09 and can be among the wickets in home conditions here.
The right-arm fast-medium pacer took 15 wickets in 10 matches last term. He also heads into the BBL after showing good form for Victoria in the Sheffield Shield.
He can be backed at 4.32 with 22Bet to be Hobart’s top wicket-taker in the match.
