Patriots v Tallawahs – CPL Betting Tips, Latest Odds, Team News, Predictions – 29/08/2020

The current bottom two in the CPL 2020 table meet in Port of Spain in a game that could prove crucial in the race for a top-four finish.

St Kitts ended their winless run when beating the Tridents two games ago, only to fall to another loss against the Zouks straight after.

For the Tallawahs, a lack of consistency has been the issue. This was highlighted further as they lost to the Tridents last time.

Take a look at our best free CPL tips for this clash.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots v Jamaica Tallawahs – Match Preview

This is an interesting match between two sides that have both struggled. Jamaica have looked the better side but the Patriots have more potential than they are showing.

The head-to-head record is also close, with the Tallawahs winning 6 and the Patriots 5 from the previous 11 clashes. This is the first time they have met in this year’s tournament.

Where: Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad

When: Saturday, 29 August 2020

Start time: 18:15 GMT (23:45 IST)

Pitch conditions: Batting second appears to be the approach to take given the matches played at Queen’s Park so far. Much like the previous venue at the Brian Lara Stadium, scores have also got lower here. Anything nearing 150 looks good at the moment. Look out for slower bowlers to hold the key to victory.

Weather conditions: There is a chance of rain showers in the day but they may have cleared up by the time the action gets underway. Cloud cover is expected.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots v Jamaica Tallawahs – Team News

Once again, the hopes of the Patriots could come down to how well star man Evin Lewis does here. He’s been their top performer so far and will need support from Australian duo Ben Dunk and Chris Lynn if they are to overcome the Tallawahs.

Rayad Emrit and Sohail Tanvir have been solid with the ball but a lack a real spin threat is holding them back a little.  Jon-Russ Jeggesar has done okay since his introduction but they need more now.

Alzarri Joseph has struggled to make an impact and didn’t even bowl against the Zouks in the last game. Shelton Cottrell must be edging closer to a return.

For Jamaica, they have been hit hard by the loss of Andre Russell. He may return for later in the tournament but they will have to do without him in this one.

It means more responsibility with the bat is added to the shoulders of Glenn Phillips and Chadwick Walton.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots v Jamaica Tallawahs – Betting Tips and Prediction

St Kitts have put up a good fight in almost all of the CPL games they have played in 2020. However, there is a reason for their poor record and it all points to Jamaica taking the win.

You don’t only have to back on the overall winner market. There are plenty of other options for this game.

More Afghan Trouble on the Cards for St Kitts

Their last game against the Zouks saw the St Kitts batsmen struggle against the right-arm off-spin of Mohammad Nabi. That could well be a clue of things to come in this fixtures.

They will now face Nabi’s countryman Mujeeb ur Rahman. He also bowls right-arm off-spin and has been in fine form in CPL 2020.

His price of 3.5 with LeoVegas to be the top bowler for the Tallahwahs looks too good to turn down.

Ben Dunk the Value Bet for St Kitts

Powerhouse Ben Dunk looks overpriced to be the top batsman for the Patriots here.

He hit a good unbeaten 22 on the way to victory against the Tridents and backed that up with 33 against the Zouks. Should St Kitts lose Evin Lewis early then Dunk could be the man to pick up the pieces.

His price of 7.0 with LeoVegas to be his team’s top run-scorer is too big.

Blackwood Ready to Fire for the Tallawahs

Jermaine Blackwood has shown signs of returning to form in recent outings and now could be the time to back him.

Playing at three, he hit 28 against the Tridents following 28 against the Amazon Warriors. While those figures are nothing to write home about, it does suggest he is heading in the right direction.

His price of 6.0 with 22Bet again looks a little generous given how high he bats up the Jamaica order.
