Sunil Narine has come under pressure in the role of opener after a few recent failures.

Calls are mounting for the team to find a genuine opener to partner Shubman Gill at the top of the order instead of the West Indian all-rounder. England’s Tom Banton could come in to fill that role.

That said, news from within the camp suggests they aren’t quite ready to give up on Narine as an opener just yet, with skipper Dinesh Karthik saying he hasn’t considered a change.

They may be tempted to push in-form England skipper Eoin Morgan up the order a little, though.

Nitish Rana did well in the last game and should continue at three.

Chennai still have South African quick Lungi Ngidi waiting for another opportunity. He took early wickets but was dropped after going for runs against the Royals.

They also have the option of Australian Josh Hazlewood should they want to switch up their bowling attack further.

There are unlikely to be many changes at the top of their order given how well Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis dominated KXIP last time out.

Ravindra Jadeja bagged a wicket against KXIP and had previously underlined his ability with the bat when hitting a half-century against Hyderabad.

The left-handed all-rounder looks a solid choice in the player performance market. He is priced at 1.83 with bet365 to get over 28.5.

His economy and wicket against Punjab should see him handed more overs in this one. His batting prowess is another bonus.

He will get 20 points for every wicket, one for every run, and 10 for every catch in the field.
