Kings XI Punjab v Kolkata Knight Riders – Betting Tips and Prediction
KXIP have the personnel to cause any team problems but it just hasn’t clicked for them despite some encouraging early signs.
They clearly pose a danger when it all comes together but you’d have to side with the Knight Riders after their confidence-boosting success over Chennai in their previous fixture.
As ever, there are also loads of different markets to look at for this clash.
Back Maxwell to Get Under the Required Performance Points
Glenn Maxwell has struggled to hit top gear for Kings XI this year and backing him to get under 29.5 player performance points looks a good bet if he features again.
He hasn’t bowled in two of the last three matches. He didn’t bowl against Mumbai or Chennai and was then only given two overs against Sunrisers. His scores with the bat in those last three also read 11, 11 and 7.
To continue those struggles and get under 29.5 performance points is priced at 1.83 with bet365.
Remember, he gets 20 points for every wicket, one point for every run and 10 points for every catch in the field. He may be in danger of being dropped if Gayle is close to a return but if selected then this looks worth considering.
Rana the Value Bet
Nitish Rana had done well with the bat for Kolkata prior to his early dismissal against CSK in the previous outing.
Before that, he had made 22 against Rajasthan and 58 against Delhi. Backing him to be back among the runs looks like a value play.
His price of 6.5 with 10CRIC is far too big, especially given Kolkata’s troubles at the top of the order. Rahul Tripathi shone at the top last time but if he should fail to back that up or if Shubman Gill again falls early, then Rana can take advantage at a big price.
Russell to be man of the match
Andre Russell is another that has more to give this IPL.
He has posed a danger with the ball in the last two games, taking three wickets. We all know how capable the West Indies star is at smashing runs when he’s in the mood.
That all-round ability makes him a perfect man of the match contender. If KKR pick up the win then Russell could be right in the mix for this honour.
He can be backed at 7.5 with 22Bet.
