The teams met earlier in the CPL 2020, when Guyana defended a mere 118 to beat Jamaica by 14 runs. That was at a different venue, though. The tournament has since moved to Port of Spain.

Guyana have won nine of their last 13 CPL matches against Jamaica, who have collected just four wins.

The Tallawahs are gradually starting to see their beloved Andre Russell come to the party. The star all-rounder hit a brisk half-century against the Warriors a few days ago.

He has Chadwick Walton, Carlos Brathwaite and Glenn Phillips there for support, too, of course. Phillips at the top of the order is especially important.

Fast bowler Fidel Edwards could have a big impact in Port of Spain. He should offer a bit more pace and nip off the seam.

Spinner Sandeep Lamichhane can be the complement to this, slowing things down with turn and some extra bounce.

Guyana have the usual middle-order trio of Sherfane Rutherford, Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer to all but bank on. Hetmyer has failed twice after stringing together back-to-back half-centuries.

Pooran fired nicely in the Warriors’ last match – and looks good for more this time. Here’s anticipating big efforts from Brandon King and Ross Taylor, as well.

Chris Green and Imran Tahir are probably the most formidable spin combination in the CPL this season. They’ve even opened the bowling together. That’s not likely this time, though.

Green will probably partner seamer Naveen-ul-Haq with the new ball again.
