India v England 1st ODI – Betting Tips and Predictions
This could be another close contest as India and England switch to the one-day format.
England pushed India all the way in the T20Is and could do the same in this series.
Given how close this one could be, looking at other markets is a good way of finding some value selections.
Back Roy For Top Batsman
Jason Roy has been a little inconsistent in T20 cricket but should enjoy a return to this form of the game.
He has looked in decent nick and can get runs at the top of the order for England.
Jonny Bairstow tops the betting but it could be worth taking him on given how his overall tour has gone. He struggled in the test team before never really hitting top gear in the preceding T20Is.
Roy’s price of 4.5 with 22Bet looks worth considering.
Iyer the Value Play for India
India have a wealth of batting talent at their disposal and captain Kohli has some big decisions to make, especially at the top of the order.
However, should that top-order fail to fire then Shreyas Iyer will be perfectly placed to take up the fight.
He has a fine IPL and continued that form in the 1st T20I. With Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan dominating the best batsman betting, Iyer looks a value selection.
Iyer has a very healthy ODI record with an average of 44.83 and is far too big a price at 8.0 with bet365.
Topley to Take His Chance
Reece Topley is likely to come into the England team for this, especially on the back of Jofra Archer’s injury absence.
The tall left-armer has the ability to cause problems for the India batting line-up and could benefit from the fact the hosts haven’t had a good look at him in the previous series.
He did well in the T20 Blast for Surrey and his ability to take the pitch out of play with a good yorker could also be useful here.
His price of 5.0 with bet365 looks a good bet.
