England v Pakistan 1st T20I – Match Preview

Pakistan won the T20 World Cup in 2009. England won the tournament in 2010. They are both world champions in this format, setting up an intriguing series.

England have won 10 of their 14 T20Is against Pakistan. But Pakistan beat England in the last T20I they played in Manchester four years ago.

Where: Old Trafford, Manchester

When: Friday, 28 August 2020

Start Time: 17:00 GMT (22:30 IST)

Pitch conditions: The team batting second has won four of the five completed T20Is at this stadium. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss seems the right choice. The venue has been used a lot for Test cricket lately. But it has had some time to rest recently.

Weather conditions: Unfortunately, plenty of wet weather is predicted in Manchester this week. The day of the match has a forecast of 80% chance of rain. Temperatures will be chilly. Hopefully we will get in fixture, even if shortened.

England v Pakistan 1st T20I – Betting Tips and Prediction

The best betting sites in India have several markets and events for this match. Allow our free match predictions to give you some pointers.

Bet on Pakistan to have the top batsman

Pakistan have an exciting batting line-up, which doesn’t always come off. But when it does, it’s great to watch and entirely capable of outdoing the opposition.

We’re backing Pakistan to have the top batsman ahead of England in this match. Whether Mohammad Hafeez, Babar Azam or someone else does it, Pakistan are priced at 2.16 with Dafabet India to have the top batsman.

Pick Wahab to be Pakistan’s best bowler

Wahab Riaz has been in England for an extended period, acclimatising and readying himself for this match and series.

He was the player of the match the last time Pakistan beat England in a T20I in Manchester. His extra pace and characteristic fire make him a tricky for the batsman to handle.

Unibet have Riaz offered at 4.00 to be Pakistan’s top bowler. Alternatively, fellow left-arm seamer Shaheen Afridi at the same price is a good pick.

Make Malan Your Top England Batsman Choice

Dawid Malan has received a hard-earned recall for England. He has fallen out of favour with the Test XI, but remains a popular choice in the shortest format.

Malan has a good combination of power hitting and calculated stroke play. It’s this that has him well positioned to be England’s top run-scorer at 5.50 with 888sport.
