Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2020: Test Tour Preview, Schedule and Squad News

Pakistan and Bangladesh will now go head-to-head in a two-match Test series.

It will see the teams play one Test in Rawalpindi in February and another Karachi in April. A one-off ODI clash will be contested in-between.

Home side Pakistan go into the series on the back of a recent 2-0 T20I series success over the Tigers.

They will be looking to continue that dominance over the longer format of the game.

The last time they played Test match cricket they bagged a series win against Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh will be keen to hit back after the T20 losses. The last time they were in Test action saw them defeated in two games against India at the end of 2019.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2020 – Test Squads

Pakistan have recalled all-rounder Faheem Ashraf and off-spinner Bilal Asif into the Test Squad.

Ashraf had been hit with injury after the home series against Sri Lanka in December.

Asif’s last appearance dates back to December 2018 against New Zealand.

The duo gets a recall after notable showings in the Qaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan’s domestic first-class competition.

Making way for them in the 16-man squad are left-arm spinner Kashif Bhatti and medium-pacer Usman Shinwari.

Bangladesh have brought back Tamim Iqbal while Soumya Sarkar is named in place of Imrul Kayes.

Batsman Najmul Hossain Shanto is chosen ahead of Shadman Islam. There is also no place for all-rounders Mossadek Hossain and Mehidy.

Captain Mushfiqur Rahim has also opted to pull out of the tour over security concerns. That means that Liton Das is likely to take the gloves.
