Bangladesh Premier League – best BPL sites and tips

BPL play-offs are close

Andre Russell celebrates a wicket for West Indies

The Bangladesh Premier League is nearing its business end. The Rajshahi Royals and Chattogram Challengers have already booked their places in the play-offs.

While the tournament doesn't boast the number of stars on display in Australia's Big Bash League, the Bangladesh Premier League has enough batsman and bowlers from overseas to interested those who bet on cricket. It's a nice curtain raiser to the Indian Premier League later this year, when some of the BPL players will be involved in IPL 2020.

LeoVegas is a good place to bet on the Bangladesh Premier League online from India. LeoVegas currently have good odds for the Dhaka Platoon, who are priced at 3.40 for an outright win. Alternatively, there's Khulna Tigers at 4.75. The Sylhet Thunder are out of the running after 10 defeats in 11 matches.

BPL Team Winner Odds
Rajshahi Royals 3.00
Dhaka Platoon 3.40
Chattogram Challengers 3.75
Khulna Tigers 4.75
Cumilla Warriors 21.00
Rangpur Riders 34.00

Why Would You Bet on the Rajshahi Royals?

The Rajshahi Royals were at the top of the table alongside the Chattogram Challengers at the time of writing. The Riders have West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell, who was briefly sidelined by injury during the tournament but will return and can have a huge impact with bat or ball. He has done it on the biggest stage at the Indian Premier League time and time again.

What Makes the Dhaka Platoon an Attractive Betting Option?

Dhaka have Bangladesh veteran Tamim Iqbal as their best batsman and Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz in their bowling attack. Iqbal actually has the most runs in the history of the Bangladesh Premier League. Other stars are lacking, but their strength is in their team effort rather than the performances of one or two individuals on any given day.

Chattogram Challengers are a Good Pick at 3.75

With Mehedi Hasan Rana at the top of the 2019-20 BPL's leading wicket-taker list and Imrul Kayes and Chadwick Walton succeeding in the batting order, the Challengers are probably the most balanced team at the tournament. At marginally longer odds than the Platoon and Royals, but far away from the Cumilla Warriors and Rangpur Riders, they're a good pick.

Khulna Tigers Rely on Rilee Rossouw

Former Proteas batsman Rilee Rossouw is a T20 jetsetter these days, playing in domestic leagues all around the world. This edition of the Bangladesh Premier League has been good to him, leaving him among the top run-scorers. They also have Mushfiqur Rahim in the top 10, but pretty much nothing else around those two. If they find enough support for the pair, the Tigers could go all the way.

Cumilla Warriors to Come Good at the Right Time

There is something quite exciting brewing at the Cumilla Warriors, who might have timed their BPL campaign just about perfectly. While they would have preferred a few more wins than the four they currently have, there is enough time to gather the number of victories needed. Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman and England batsman Dawid Malan have been superb for the Warriors.

Rangpur Riders Predictions on Right Track with Watson and Abell

Any team with former Australian captain Shane Watson in their ranks cannot be underestimated. Watson brings a lot to the table with bat and ball and, as captain, is one of the better tacticians in T20 cricket. He has also got county cricket all-rounder Tom Abell to call on. Abell hasn't played limited-overs cricket for England just yet, but seems well on his way to an international debut.

BPL Players in the IPL

Andrew Russell, who will play for the Kolkata Knight Riders and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who will represent the Kings XI Punjab, are good examples of stars moving from the Bangladesh Premier League to the Indian Premier League later this year. Rahman will be particular important to a KXIP squad that is heavy on seam, including South Africa's Hardus Viljoen and England's Chris Jordan. The Kings XI Punjab have never won the IPL, but this year seem well set to do so. LeoVegas have them at 9.00 in the IPL outright markets.
