Boland Park profile
Boland Park is among South Africa’s secondary international cricket venues. Locate in the heart of Paarl, which is central to the country’s winelands, the venue is a cricketing oasis of sorts.
It is the Western Cape region’s alternative international cricket ground, with Newlands Stadium about an hour’s drive away.
Boland Park was dimly lit before state-of-the-art floodlights were installed, which has arguably made it a more attractive option for spectators than grounds such as Willowmoore Park or Senwes Park.
It is also a frequent venue for warm-up fixtures, prior to Test and limited-overs series when teams visit from overseas.
What to look for when betting on matches at Boland Park
With small boundaries and largely flat conditions, this ground has been a batsmen’s paradise in the past. It has four of the top 10 team totals in the history of the Mzansi Super League.
Paarl is a hot region of South Africa, with temperatures soaring in the summer. This often makes for dry pitches, which brings the spinners into play if the surface is biting a bit.
Boland Park is home to the Paarl Rocks, who were the most successful team to bet on in the opening two years of the MSL.
