Sydney Sixers v Melbourne Renegades – Betting Tips and Prediction
The Renegades got the job done comfortably enough against Perth but were never really tested to the max.
They did bowl really well to restrict the Scorchers to just 130 and take the pressure off their batsman for the chase.
The Sixers, meanwhile, somehow saw their opening clash slip away from them at crucial points. A late flurry from Hobart’s Tim David gave them work to do before their run-chase lost key momentum.
Give those fine margins, backing the Sixers looks the best bet in the outright market. They can be backed at 1.868 with 22Bet, which looks good value compared to other betting sites.
Stick with Philippe
Josh Philippe shone at last year’s BBL and impressed when eventually getting an opportunity to open for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.
He may have fell without scoring in the opening game but that is no reason to lose faith in the young batting prospect.
His positive attitude at the crease will bring runs and his price of 3.6 with bet365 to be Sydney’s top batsman looks a solid selection.
Finch to Fire Again
Aaron Finch looks a great bet in the Renegades top batsman market.
The Australian opener has quickly put an inconsistent IPL behind him since returning to home soil.
He looked in particularly good form in the ODIs against India recently and carried that into the first BBL contest to hit a 28-ball 35 to get his team off to a good start.
His opening partner at Melbourne, Shaun Marsh, also did well against Perth but Finch looks the better pick.
There are a few questions about the batting to come lower down the order, so a good start from Finch will go a very long way to him landing this bet.
He can be backed at 2.88 with 22Bet to be Melbourne’s top batsman
