Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat – Big Bash League Betting Tips, Latest Odds, Team News and Predictions – 11/1/2020
The 2019-20 Big Bash League continues to roll through Australian cities far and wide, as the Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat clash in Perth. The latest odds and predictions are not straightforward, as the Scorchers beat the Heat earlier this BBL season, but are lower than them on the table at the moment.
The Scorchers have won the BBL three times, while the Heat have won it once. Both are chasing another title and victory in this match would certainly give one the advantage over the other as the rest of the tournament goes on.

Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat – Latest Odds
Betway have priced the Perth Scorchers to win at 2.10 and the Brisbane Heat are offered at 1.67. They met in the 2012-13 BBL final when the Scorchers won. A lot has changed since then, of course, but the fierce rivalry remains.
They also opposed each other on the first day of this year, when a Player of the Match performance from Fawad Ahmed carried the Scorchers to victory by 40 runs. The leg-spinner took three wickets, including the key dismissals of the dangerous Chris Lynn and all-rounder Ben Cutting.
That star performance has seen Ahmed positioned at 3.75 to be the top bowler for the Scorchers against the Heat again. He will again face a big challenge against Lynn, who has already hit 17 sixes this season – and is priced at 2.50 to be the top batsman for the Heat.

Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat – Team News
The Scorchers can again look to the big-hitting prowess of Mitchell Marsh and Liam Livingstone to lead their batting ranks. Marsh and Livingstone have been superb through this season’s BBL so far. Livingstone is renowned for scoring big runs on the international stage. He did so in South Africa’s Mzansi Super League late last year.
Ahmed and England seamer Chris Jordan are complementing each other well in the bowling department. There is a lot to be said for taking the pace off the ball in a format dominated by batsmen. Jordan has a masterful slower delivery, which will likely come in handy when Lynn and others are expecting the ball to arrive quickly.
The Heat are still biding their time ahead of the arrival of former South African captain AB de Villiers. They pulled off a major coup when they signed him last year. He’ll join their campaign later this month, so for now it’s up to Lynn and Tom Banton to keep doing what they do. ‘Lynnsanity’ and and Banton have also been helped by Matt Renshaw, who isn’t really a T20 cricketer in the truest sense, but has done well for himself here.
More than six years since his last appearance for Australia, the 37-year-ol Ben Laughlin is still as good as he was then, if not better. He has taken the most wickets for the Heat this season. He is effectively the face of the Heat’s bowling attack – and has been priced at 3.00 to be their top bowler in this match.
Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat – Betting Tips
This match will bring plenty of head-to-head battles within the overall war, with a couple of particularly interesting tussles lined up.
Livingstone to keep loving life in Perth
Englishman Livingstone has become somewhat of a T20 globetrotter in the last couple of years. His home away from home is in Australia for now – and his clean hitting is something to look forward to again.
It’s his good timing and relatively carefree attitude that make him a solid cricketer in the high-pressure global T20 circuit. He is a top tip to lead the ‘Any Player to Score 100’ at 8.50 with Betway. He bowls some leg-spin as well and, at 9.50 to be Perth’s best bowler against the Heat, isn’t an unreasonable bet.

Banton backed to bash big again
England’s Banton is making a name for himself – and quickly. With three T20Is to his and a T20 World Cup squad berth to secure, Banton has chosen the right stage to strut his stuff. The 19-ball 56 his struck in a rain-affected win over the Sydney Thunder was just a small sample size of what he can do.
From premeditating switch-hits to going inside out and over the top, he has all the shots in the book. It’s this kind of 360-degree play that has him right up there with Lynn among popular cricket bets. If not Lynn at 2.50, go for Banton at 3.80 to be the Heat’s best batsman against the Scorchers.
Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat – Prediction
The Heat lost to the Scorchers earlier this year – and are out for revenge. On the face of it, the Heat’s batting is stronger, while the bowling between each side is evenly poised. Even away from Brisbane and in Perth, though, the Heat are the top tip for the match win here, especially if Lynn and Banton come off. Both, of course, will be in action for the Kolata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League later this year.
Best Bet: Banton to be Brisbane Heat Top Batter with Betway at 3.80
