Otago Volts v Northern Knights – Betting Tips and Prediction
The Volts have nothing to play for here but it is the Knights that could still be pushing for the knockout phase.
It is the Knights that are rightly the favourites and should get the job done.
However, their price for the outright win isn’t that appealing, so checking other markets is the best way of finding value.
Back Williamson to Continue Fine Form
Kane Williamson is in sparkling form at present and it is hard to overlook him in the top batsman market for the Knights.
He carried his international form against Pakistan – when he hit 129 and 328 in the final two Tests – straight into the Super Smash. He followed up an unbeaten 34 against Canterbury by smashing 79 not out against Auckland.
Williamson is priced at 3.25 with bet365 to be his team’s top batsman.
Seifter to Hit the Most Sixes
This ground could suit the big-hitting of powerhouse wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert.
He has just nine sixes in nine matches this Super Smash but could well take this opportunity to added a few more.
The big danger to this bet probably comes from team-mate Anton Devcich. He has 14 in nine matches but has struggled for recent form.
Because of Devcich’s current lull, preference goes to Seifert to find his range at Dunedin. He can be backed at 5.5 with bet365 to hit the most sixes in the match.
Volts to Have Highest Opening Partnership
While it looks like the Knights could dominate this contest, it doesn’t mean the Volts won’t get the better opening partnership.
The Knights have struggled a little in this area with their strength coming lower down in the order with Williamson, de Grandhomme and Devcich.
Otago, meanwhile, have a solid base in Hamish Rutherford and Neil Broom. That duo could dig in to take this bet.
The Volts are priced at 2.1 with 22Bet to have the highest opening partnership.
