England v Pakistan 2nd T20I – Match Preview

England have a dominant record over Pakistan in the shortest format of the international game. England have won 10 of their 15 meetings in T20I cricket.

But Pakistan have never lost a T20I at Old Trafford. England have won three of their five completed T20Is here.

Where: Old Trafford, Manchester

When: Sunday, 30 August 2020

Start time: 13:15 GMT (18:45 IST)

Pitch conditions: The team that wins the toss will likely bowl first again. They will possibly open the bowling with a spinner, too. England showed that a score of around 160 will be about average for this wicket.

Weather conditions: The rain that prevented the first match from being completed seems to have moved on. But there is still a small 10% chance of rain forecast. Temperatures will be in the mid-teens celsius. Chilly for all, indeed.

England v Pakistan 2nd T20I – Team News

England lost Jason Roy to injury shortly before the start of the series. That saw Jonny Bairstow and Tom Banton open the batting in the first match. The same combination will likely continue at the top.

England won’t likely make changes to the XI, leaving David Willey and Joe Denly on the sidelines. That should mean Dawid Malan and Saqib Mahmood will be prioritised in the batting and bowling, respectively, again.

Nine of the 16.1 overs Pakistan bowled in the opening washout were spin. They might be tempted to bowl more spin via Shoaib Malik or Mohammad Hafeez.

They definitely need better from Haris Rauf, who was expensive in the first match. Like he does in the Big Bash League and Pakistan Super League, Rauf needs to experiment with variations in pace.

England v Pakistan 2nd T20I – Betting Tips and Prediction

These free cricket prediction tips could put you in a good position for the second T20I in Manchester. The tips are compiled by our experts with years of experience.

Bet on Babar to Score 27 or More

Babar Azam now has the added responsibility of the captaincy. But he is still one of the best batsmen in the Pakistan T20I team.

He averages over 50 in this format and only has to score a bit more than half of that for you to win this bet. Dafabet India have Azam priced at 1.87 to score 26.5+ runs in this match.

Choose Curran to be England’s Top Bowler

Curran would have watched where Haris Rauf went wrong in the opening match – and could adjust his approach accordingly.

He is a wise bowler and won’t just bang it in. Those characteristic slower balls of his should come into play a lot. You can get Curran to be England’s top bowler at 4.5 with bet365.

Pick a Century to be Scored

Tom Banton looked like he was going to go all the way to three figures in the opening match, but ultimately didn’t. He showed that it’s possible.

If not Banton, then any other batsman might ton up this time. The conditions are good for it. They’re long odds, but 10Cric have a ton to be hit at 9.0.
