England v Pakistan 1st T20I – Team News

  • Jos Buttler – The brilliant England opener is back after missing the ODI series due to a Covid-19 outbreak in the camp. He is just one of a number of regulars to return.
  • Moeen Ali – The all-rounder has a good record at this ground. He is another back in the squad along with skipper Eoin Morgan, Jonny Bairstow and Adil Rashid.
  • Saqib Mahmood – The pace bowler was named player of the ODI series and is rewarded with a call-up to this squad. Jake ball, Lewis Gregory and Matt Parkinson are also in.
  • Babar Azam – The Pakistan skipper struggled for runs at the start of the preceding ODI series but hit back in the last game with a fine 158. He will want to build on that now.
  • Mohammad Rizwan – The wicket-keeper batsman should relish a return to the shortest format. He just led Multan Sultans to the PSL title.

England v Pakistan 1st T20I – Betting Tips and Predictions

Our experts have cricket betting tips for this match. These include the latest odds and are based on the form of the players.

Back Ball at Trent Bridge

Jake Ball didn’t see any game time in the ODI series yet was still included in this T20I squad.

Part of that thinking must have been the fact that this game is at his home ground of Trent Bridge.

The Notts Outlaws right-arm seamer has been in excellent form in the T20 Blast, taking 11 wickets in his last five matches.

He looks a great bet to be England’s top bowler should he be handed an opportunity.

Ball is priced at 4.0 with bet365.

Haris Rauf is Good Value

Pace bowler Haris Rauf looks good value in the top Pakistan bowler market.

Rauf took wickets in the ODI series, including four in the last game in Birmingham. He is bowling with confidence and wickets tend to come in clusters for him.

His extra pace will be useful on this surface and it is worth going with him ahead of favourite Shaheen Afridi at the prices.

Rauf can be backed at 4.5 with 1xBet.

A Century to be Scored

This is a longshot bet but one that is worth considering for this fixture.

Conditions should be good for batting for this clash and there are plenty of players on show, particularly for England, that could take advantage.

Notts openers Alex Hales and Joe Clarke have both shown big scores are possible here during the Blast and it would be no surprise to see Buttler, Bairstow, Livingstone or even Babar or Rizwan follow suit.

The price for a ton to be scored is 7.0 with bet365.
