Delhi Capitals v Rajasthan Royals – Team News
The Delhi Capitals are looking a really good unit now, having found – more or less – their first-choice XI.
With Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw opening the batting and Marcus Stoinis the key all-rounder, the unit is nicely set.
They will continue to do without the injured Amit Mishra for the rest of the tournament, but Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel are formidable spinners regardless.
Delhi won’t have wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, though. He has been sidelined for a week by a hamstring injury. Delhi have also lost Ishant Sharma to injury.
The Rajasthan Royals have pushed Ben Stokes straight into the XI after his belated arrival to the IPL. He might open the batting again with fellow Enlgand star Jos Buttler.
With Steven Smith and Jofra Archer taking up the other overseas spots, that probably means no space for Tom Curran, Andrew Tye or David Miller.
Rajasthan’s homegrown batsmen Rahul Tewatia, Mahipal Lomror and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been impressive.
