Pakistan v Zimbabwe 2020 – ODI Squads

Pakistan will be captained in ODIs by the brilliant Babar Azam for the first time.

He was named as his country’s white-ball skipper over a year ago but is yet to lead Pakistan in ODI cricket.

Babar will lead a slightly younger Pakistan squad for this series after the omission of veteran trio Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Amir from their 22-man squad list.

Shadab Khan will be vice-captain for both this and the T20I series that follows.

There is a place for 20-year-old batsman Abdullah Shafique. He has caught the eye playing for Central Punjab in the recent National T20 Cup.

Haider Ali and Khushdil Shah are included, as is in-form wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan. Rohail Nazir has been selected as his back-up.

Zimbabwe will be captained by Chamu Chibhabha in Pakistan. He replaces Sean Williams, who skippered the side when they were in Bangladesh.

However, Williams still makes the trip. The 20-man squad also sees a return for fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani, who gained some good experience with Northamptonshire in English county cricket.

More experience comes from Brendan Taylor, Sikandar Raza and Elton Chigumbura. All-rounder Raza was impressive in the 2020 Caribbean Premier League.

Zimbabwe have handed debut call-ups to Saudi Arabi-born all-rounder Faraz Akram and 19-year-old all-rounder Milton Shumba. There are surprise omissions for Tarisai Musakanda and Kyle Jarvis.

Pakistan v Zimbabwe 2020 – ODI Preview, Latest Odds and Predictions

Pakistan could use this series as a chance to give more minutes to some of their developing talent, as well as working on a few new combinations.

That said, they should still have far too much for Zimbabwe, especially over the three matches.

They are priced at 1.01 with bet365 to secure a series success. Zimbabwe can be backed at 17.0 to cause a big upset.

However, despite them being a short price in the overall win market, there are always other odds to look at with the best INR betting sites.

Back the White-wash to Boost the Odds

While Pakistan are 1.01 with bet365 to win the series, they can be backed at 1.2 to claim a 3-0 success.

This would be the better play for those looking to boost the odds should Pakistan dominate as predicted.

A 2-1 win for Pakistan is priced at 5.0 with the same firm, but even that could be a tough ask for the tourists.

Babar to Enjoy First ODIs as Captain

This series will be the first time that Babar Azam has captained Pakistan in ODIs.

While the likes of Haider Ali and Mohammed Hafeez can shine, backing Babar to come out as his side’s top series run-scorer looks a solid selection.

He can be backed at 3.0 with bet365 to lead with the bat as well as his captaincy.

Sikandar Raza a Value Pick for Zimbabwe

Pakistan-born Zimbabwe international Sikandar Raza looks a value play to be his team’s top series run-scorer.

Raza knows the conditions well after featuring in the PSL in the past but was also another who impressed in those last ODIs against Bangladesh.

He hit back-to-back half-centuries in the last two ODIs and can carry that forward here. Zimbabwe may be tempted to push him higher up the order too.

He can be backed at 4.5 with bet365 to be Zimbabwe’s top series batsman
