England and Australia will meet for three T20Is in Southampton this month. The hosts are the favourites, after playing series against the West Indies and Pakistan recently.

England v Australia 2020 – T20I Squads

England have recalled Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer and Mark Wood. The three were not included in the squad for the recent T20I series against Pakistan.

It’ll be interesting to see if England open the batting with Buttler and Bairstow – or if Tom Banton is kept at the top of the order.

Lewis Gregory and James Vince have been left out. Test captain Joe Root was also not chosen, despite some fine form in the ongoing T20 Blast.

Chris Jordan has been retained. Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid are the specialist spinners in the squad.

Australia have brought an extended squad to England. They have rewarded Big Bash League performers Josh Philippe, Daniel Sams and others with international inclusion.

Sams and Philippe will be in the Indian Premier League next month, too, as will Glenn Maxwell and other Australian stars.

Marnus Labuchagne is pushing for a permanent berth in the T20I XI on the back of outstanding performances at Test and ODI level.

Morgan to be England’s Top Batsman

Eoin Morgan’s IPL career will resume with the Kolkata Knight Riders next month. His most immediate task, though, is to steer England to a series win over Australia.

Just one of Morgan’s top five T20I scores have come against the Australians, but he’s in good enough form to add another to the list.

His finishing skills toward the end of the innings are particularly impressive – and will be key against an opposition attack dotted with good death bowlers.

Morgan is priced at 6.5 to be England’s top batsman for the series by bet365. Other good bets are Tom Banton at 4.5 and Dawid Malan at 6.0.

Zampa to be Australia’s Top Bowler

Adam Zampa was recently added to the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad for the IPL 2020. There, he’ll be team-mates with a batsman he has performed well against – Virat Kohli.

Until the IPL, though, Zampa is tasked with being Australia’s leg-spin kingpin in the United Kingdom. Conditions are primed for his art, with the Rose Bowl set to offer turn and bounce.

Zampa might go for a good few runs, but he’ll likely pick up wickets along the way, as batsmen hole out on the boundary especially.

He is offered at 4.50 by bet365 to be Australia’s top bowler in the series. Alternatively, bet on a seamer in the same market. Kane Richardson at 5.5 and Pat Cummins at 4.0 could bring good value.
