Australia v India 2020 – Test Squads

Virat Kohli will only play in the first Test before returning home to be with his pregnant wife.

Rohit Sharma should overcome hamstring trouble to feature in the last two Tests.

India have also brought KL Rahul back into the Test fold for the first time since being dropped from the last tour Down Under in 2018-19.

He is joined in the squad by KKR’s Kuldeep Yadav as well as RCB duo Mohammed Siraj and Navdeep Saini.

Prithvi Shaw is available but Ravindra Jadeja is unlikely to be fit for the first Test after he picked up a hamstring injury and concussion during the T20I series opener.

Australia will have to wait on the fitness of opener David Warner. He missed the end of the white-ball series but could return for these Test battles.

Bowler Pat Cummins will return for this series after being rested for the T20I matches that came before.

Batsman Will Pucovski and all-rounder Cameron Green have been included in the squad along with leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson and all-rounders Michael Neser and Sean Abbott.

Australia v India 2020 – Test Preview, Latest Odds and Predictions

Australia are short-priced favourites to win the four-match test series on home soil. They can be backed at 1.4 with bet365.

India can be backed at 5.5 with the same betting site. A drawn series is also priced at 5.5.

Predict the Correct Series Score

There are bigger prices available if you can predict the correct overall series score.

Australia are going to be tough to crack for Virat Kohli’s men but their price isn’t that appealing from a betting point of view.

However, backing them to win by the right scoreline does up their odds. A 4-0 clean sweep is priced at 6.0 with bet365, 3-1 to the hosts is 5.0 and 3-0 is 9.0.

A 2-2 drawn series can be backed at 7.0 and an unlikely 3-1 India win is 12.0. 4-0 to India is available at 51.0, also with bet365.

Look to Pujara for Top Batsman

Cheteshwar Pujara relished the Australian conditions the last time India played there. He has to be considered when looking for India’s top series batsman.

He hit three centuries in the previous tour, including a 193 in Sydney, and showed he is in decent nick with a half-century in a warm-up match against Australia A.

With Virat Kohli heading home after the first Test and questions over the fitness of Rohit Sharma, Pujara looks a good bet to be his country’s main man with the bat.

He can be backed at 3.0 with bet365 to be his team’s top series batsman.
