Australia v India 2020 – ODI Squads

Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar won’t be heading to Australia after injury ended his IPL participation. There is also no place for Rishabh Pant or Prithvi Shaw.

However, injuries do mean that bowler Shardul Thakur has been given an opportunity to show what he can do in the one-day squad.

Virat Kohli will skipper the side with the support of vice-captain KL Rahul. Rahul heads to Australia on the back of some good performances in the IPL with KXIP.

His fellow opener at Kings XI, Mayank Agarwal, is another that could get more game time. Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill will also be looking for a place at the top of the order.

More pace in the bowling department comes from RCB’s Navdeep Saini, who will be looking to impress on the Australian pitches.

Australia, meanwhile, have given uncapped Cameron Green a place in their ODI squad.

All-rounder Moises Henriques has been recalled after an absence of more than three years. He replaces fellow all-rounder Mitchell Marsh who is still sidelined with an ankle problem.

Skipper Aaron Finch and SRH’s David Warner look likely to open once more. Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne and Marcus Stoinis make up a strong outfit.
