India will host Australia for a much-anticipated ODI battle between two of the world’s best sides across all formats of the game.
Both teams will be using the game to help preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup in October as well as starting plans for the next ODI world cup in 2023.
It will be the first time Australia’s ODI side has been in action since their semi-final defeat against England in last year’s tournament.
However, Australia enjoyed Test series wins over New Zealand and Pakistan at the back end of 2019. That followed T20I wins over Sri Lanka in October.
India, meanwhile, will be keen to improve their overall ODI record against Australia, having only won 40 per cent of their previous meetings.
Their ODI team was last in action when bagging a series success over West Indies in December. They head into this contest on the back of a home T20 series with Sri Lanka.

India vs Australia ODI Squad News
India will welcome vice-captain Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami back into the fold after they were rested for the T20I series against Sri Lanka.
Bowler Jasprit Bumrah is also back in the ODI squad after recovering from a back injury. He could be closer to full fitness after featuring recently against Sri Lanka.
Australia are likely to hand an ODI debut to Test star Marnus Labuschagne during this series. It will be fascinating to see if he can transform his brilliance in the longer format of the game to hand the visitors another string to their bow.
He was also chosen for the ODI squad after being named as joint player of the tournament in the Marsh Cup. He took that honour alongside Usman Khawaja but has seen his Queensland team-mate miss out on selection for the national side this time around.
Also missing out on selection are Glenn Maxwell, Shaun Marsh, Marcus Stoinis and Nathan Lyon. There have been recalls for Josh Hazlewood, Ashton Agar, Ashton Turner and Sean Abbott.
