Bhuvneshwar a Doubt for Rest of IPL 2020

Seamer nursing injury

Seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar's participation in the remainder of the Sunrisers Hyderabad's 2020 Indian Premier League campaign is in doubt.

Kumar sustained an injury in this week's fixture against the Chennai Super Kings at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

He was unable to complete a fourth and final over, after taking the wicket of Chennai opener Shane Watson earlier.

Whether he is available for the Sunrisers' fixture against Mumbai Indians at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium remains in the balance.

Last month, Hyderabad lost Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh to injury. He hurt an ankle and was replaced in the squad by West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder.

Kumar's IPL Record

Kumar is among the top five wicket-takers in the history of the IPL. He has also played for the Pune Warriors – and taken 136 wickets in 121 matches.

Only fast bowler Lasith Malinga, leg-spinners Amit Mishra and Piyush Chawla and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh have taken more. Singh and Malinga are not involved in this year's tournament.

Garg on SRH's Win over CSK

Batsman Priyam Garg starred in Hyderbad's seven-run win over Chennai on Friday. He hit an unbeaten half-century, but was involved in the run-out of team-mate Kane Williamson.

“It felt really bad when he got run-out. He was a set batsman. That he was run-out was a mistake, but everything went alright after that. When I went back to the dug out, he said to me ‘Don't worry mate, forget about it. You've batted really well',” Garg told the official IPL website.

His 51 not out spanned 26 deliveries – and featured six fours and one six. Gary was well supported by all-rounder Abhishek Sharma, who was successful in being aggressive against Chennai spinner Ravindra Jadeja.

“I thought I could take three or four balls to get in, but that turned into seven or eight balls. Priyam was batting very well, so I thought I shouldn't be the one negating the runs, so I decided to target Jadeja,” added Sharma.

Dhoni Milestone

Garg was named player of the match. The same fixture saw Super Kings captain MS Dhoni surpass Raina as the most capped IPL player. Dhoni has collected 194 tournament appearances to Raina's 193.
