New Zealand vs India 3rd ODI Preview – Betting Tips, Latest Odds, Team News and Predictions – 11/2/2020
New Zealand slipped to a five-nil T20I series whitewash at the hands of India recently, but have bounced back well to take an unbeatable two-nil lead in the ODIs. Now, India will try to avoid a series whitewash of their own in the third and final ODI on Tuesday.
India impressed with the ball initially in the second ODI in Auckland before slipping to their first bilateral series defeat since March 2019. The visiting bowlers were right on top of the opposition until half-centurion Ross Taylor and tail-ender Kyle Jamieson exposed some poor bowling at the death. India will, of course, want to right these wrongs soon enough.

New Zealand vs India 3rd ODI – Latest Odds
New Zealand and India are priced at 2.30 and 1.61, respectively, by bet365 to win the third ODI. Colin de Grandhomme (11.00) as the hosts’ top batsman and Shivam Dube (8.00) for India’s top bowlers are among some of the longer but realistic odds in the individual markets.
New Zealand vs India 3rd ODI – Team News
New Zealand will welcome back captain Kane Williamson for the series decider. He missed the first two matches due to injury. Tim Southee captained the XI in Williamson’s absence. The skipper’s return will bolster the batting ranks, with Tom Blundell expected to lose his place at number three in the batting order.
Scott Kuggeleijn might filter into the XI for Southee, who was ill during the second match. Kuggeleijn is relatively untried at ODI level. With the series won, New Zealand must decide to tinker with their XI or play at full strength in an attempt to secure a three-nil sweep.
Indian captain Virat Kohli, like he did toward the end of the T20I series, has suggested the tourists will test their bench strength in this match. Dube, Manish Pandey and Rishabh Pant are in the squad, but have not been in the XI this series. One, two or all three could play in Mount Maunganui.
The top order won’t likely change much, if at all. In the absence of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma, this will be another opportunity to test Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw as an opening combination in ODI cricket. Both were previously pigeonholed as Test match cricketers.
New Zealand vs India 3rd ODI – Betting Tips and Prediction
This is the last ODI before the two teams get into Test match mode for the two-match series later this month. Despite the different format, there is momentum to continue for New Zealand or gather for India before the Tests.
Taylor to keep New Zealand on top
New Zealand and India contested two ODIs at the Bay Oval, which is relatively new to international cricket, in January 2019. India won both matches, despite a couple of key contributions from Ross Taylor. He has been fine form of late and will soon become the only cricketer to play at least 100 matches in each format. Taylor has been priced at 4.00 to be New Zealand top batsman in the third ODI.
More of the same from Saini
Fast bowler Navdeep Saini continues to fetch high praise from Kohli – and deservedly so. The talented right-armer is forging a niche for himself in the limited-overs XI, as India look beyond Umesh Yadav in finding Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and others the right support. His extra pace and carry could be primed for success at the Bay Oval. Saini is offered at 6.00 to be India’s top bowler.
Best Bet: Navdeep Saini to be India’s top bowler with betway at 6.00
