New Zealand vs India 2nd T20I Preview – Betting Tips, Latest Odds, Team News and Predictions – 26/01/2020

India will look to build on their opening win of this T20I series when they take on New Zealand at the same venue just two days on.

Hot on the heels of Friday’s close-fought battle with the Black Caps, India will hope for more batting fireworks at Eden Park.

They bagged a dramatic six-wicket win thanks to Shreyas Iyer’s late half-century. They had looked in slight trouble at one stage as Rahul, Kohli and Dube fell in quick succession.

However, Iyer took the game by the scruff of the neck and smashed 58 off 29 balls to get the visitors over the line.

New Zealand, meanwhile, will feel they let a much-needed victory slip from their grasp. They will also take plenty of positives with how close they pushed India despite a host of injury absences.

Once again, this match should offer a few more pointers towards the T20 World Cup later this year.

New Zealand vs India 2nd T20I – Team News

India are having to do without opener Shikhar Dhawan for this T20I series and the ODI series that follows it.

He picked up a shoulder injury against Australia and hasn’t travelled. Sanju Samson was called up to replace him in the T20 squad.

The visitors also have Rohit Sharma back playing T20 cricket after being rested against Sri Lanka and he’ll be keen to do better than the seven runs he managed in the first clash.

India have also taken a wealth of spin options out to New Zealand with them. Ravindra Jadeja and Yuzvendra Chahal were picked for the first fixture but Virat Kohli could choose to have a look at Washington Sundar or Kuldeep Yadav for this one.

New Zealand have more injury issues than India and have turned to Hamish Bennett to help limit the damage.

He cames in due to injuries to Trent Boult and Lockie Ferguson.

Also remaining out through injury are the likes of Tom Latham, Matt Henry, Adam Milne, Seth Rance, Doug Bracewell and Will Young.

New Zealand vs India 2nd T20I – Betting Tips and Prediction

New Zealand pushed India all the way in the first contest of the series but you can’t help feel they passed up their best chance of victory.

India needed the brilliance of Shreyas Iyer to get the job done after KL Rahul and Virat Kohli had put the foundations in place.

They will take a lot of belief from that showing and look worthy favourites to build on it back at Eden Park.

That said, New Zealand showed plenty of encouraging signs back on home soil and their price of 2.36 (13/8) does still offer some value.

KL Rahul still the man to follow

Rahul batted brilliantly to make 56 off 27 balls in the first clash and was just pipped to be India’s top match run-scorer by Iyer.

He looks in fine form and his price of 4.00 (3/1) with bet365 to be India’s top batsman this time around looks far too tempting.

He clearly enjoyed moving back up the order in Shikhar Dhawan’s injury absence and can reap the rewards once more on the same surface and surroundings.

Williamson to lead New Zealand reaction

One huge plus for the home side was Kane Willaimson’s half-century in the first fixture.

Colin Munroe and Ross Taylor all out-scored him but there was a lot to like about the way he quickly made 51 off 26 balls.

That bodes well for him and New Zealand. His price of 4.00 (3/1) with bet365 also looks a little too big considering the captain’s undeniable position as his side’s dangerman.

Best Bet: KL Rahul to be India’s top batsman at 4.00 (3/1) with bet365
