Australia vs New Zealand 3rd Test Preview – Betting Tips, Latest Odds, Team News and Predictions – 02/01/2020
Australian are targeting a whitewash over New Zealand to cap what has been an impressive series for them.
They have already put on dominant displays in both Perth and Melbourne to give them the series successwin with one Test left to play.
New Zealand struggled to deal with Nathan Lyon in the second innings in Melbourne and could be set for more of the same on the spin-friendly surface of the SCG.
However, the hosts will be keen to take something from the series after coming into it in such fine spirits beforehand.

Australia vs New Zealand 3rd Test – Team News
The SCG is often helpful to spin bowlers and that is set to be reflected in both teams’ selections.
Mitchell Swepson could be in-line for his first cap and could even be used in tandem with Nathan Lyon is Sydney.
It would be the first time Australia have used two specialist spinners at the SCG since facing Pakistan three years ago.
There is still every chance Australia will stick to the winning formula from the second Test, especially after the impact of Pat Cummins, James Pattinson and Mitchell Starc. They also have the part-time spin of Manus Labuschagne to call on.
New Zealand, meanwhile, have replaced the injury Trent Boult with off-spinner Will Somerville.
Pace ace Boult missed the first Test with a side strain before being ruled out of the third after fracturing his right hand in the second Test in Melbourne.

Australia vs New Zealand 3rd Test – Betting Tips
After two dominant displays already, Australia are again made the overwhelming favourites to secure a 3-0 series whitewash.
New Zealand went into the series in high spirits and will be looking to show what they are capable of in Sydney.
The overall outcome may well be decided but there are still plenty of intriguing betting opportunities on offer before the Black Caps head home.
Labuschagne to continue fine form in Sydney – Betting Prediction
Marvellous Marnus Labuschagne hasn’t looked back since being handed his chance in the team as a concussion replacement for Steve Smith during the Ashes.
His form skyrocketed last year and doesn’t look like stopping in 2020, especially if this current series against New Zealand is anything to go by.
He started it with a brilliant 143 in the first innings at Perth before following it up with a half century as Australia took the win.
Melbourne was more disappointing when his first innings 63 was followed by being run out on 19.
However, that now sees him available at around 4.00 (3/1) to be his side’s top scorer in the third and final Test.
Considering the spin-friendly nature of the SCG, we may also see Labuschagne being handed the ball at some stage.
With that in mind, it could be worth looking at the man of the match markets for even more value.
Labuschagne is best-priced at 10/1 with Bet365 to land the man of the match award in Sydney.
Lyon to have bookmakers in a spin?
Spinner Nathan Lyon looks a good bet to be Australia’s top second innings wicket taker.
Lyon goes into the final Test of the series on the back of a fine second innings four-wicket haul in Melbourne.
His ability could again come into play in Sydney and the second innings market is certainly worth a look once priced up.
As for New Zealand, it has been a tough series for Kane Williamson who heads their top batsman market at 3.5 (5/2).
While the skipper may well bounce back here, it may be worth siding with Ross Taylor at 5.00 (4/1), especially if the openers and Williamson fail again.
His first innings 80 in Perth remains a small bright spark in a disappointing series with the bat for the Black Caps.
Best Bet: Marnus Labuschagne to be named man of the match at 11.00 (10/1) with Bet365
